Jamaica is on African swine fever alert since the detection of the disease recently in the Dominican Republic. Dr. Osbil Watson, Chief Veterinary Officer at the Veterinary Services Division of the Ministry of the Agriculture & Fisheries shares information about the disease and the implication for Jamaica's pork industry if the disease gets into the island.
